Naples, Fla. – Today, Greg Folley announced the endorsement of Tom Boyce, a retired U.S. Navy Captain. Greg Folley first met Capt. Tom Boyce at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where they both attended. A Jacksonville native, Capt. Boyce went on to an extensive career in a variety of leadership positions in the U.S. Navy after graduating from the Naval Academy in 1981. In addition to serving in the Navy, he has been a leader in the nuclear energy field.

“I heartily endorse Greg Folley for State Representative for House District 81,” said Captain Tom Boyce. “He is a proven senior leader in both business and government with a long history of achievements in his career, even while also serving on the boards for several charitable organizations. Most recently, Greg has demonstrated a highly effective collaborative leadership style as a City Councilman for Marco Island, resulting in being elected to be the Chairman. He was able to work with people having a variety of differing interests and forge a consensus on significant contentious issues, notably capably managing the rapid growth of the island while simultaneously reducing the property tax rate for its homeowners.”

Capt. Boyce added: “I first came to know Greg while we served together at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. He thoroughly embraced the mission of that fine institution, principally the value of service to country above self, including core values of honor, courage, and commitment. Although a medical condition precluded his career in the naval service, as a young man Greg already demonstrated the attributes of initiative, accountability, integrity, and toughness that would serve him well in his civilian career.”

“As a representative of District 81, I know Greg will work hard for the people he represents,” concluded Capt. Boyce. “He will lead the conservative fight to preserve the rights and individual freedoms that are being eroded by the corrosive liberal political organizations in today’s society. I believe Greg Folley is the absolute best choice to represent and serve our district as the State Representative for House District 81.”

“I’m extremely grateful to have Captain Tom Boyce’s endorsement in this race,” said Greg Folley. “The Naval Academy instilled in us both the values that have played fundamental roles in our extensive careers in leadership and service. The captain’s faith in my commitment to District 81 means a great deal to me, and his words of support and encouragement are extremely important to the success of my campaign. No matter what, my community and all Floridians will always be able to rely on me to put their needs first and preserve the conservative principles that make our state and nation great.”

Greg is a full-time resident of Marco Island and was appointed to the City Council on June 1, 2020, to fill a vacancy. He was elected to fill the remainder of the term in November of 2020 and was re-elected to a full four-year term in November 2022. Since December of 2022, he has served as the Chairman of the Marco Island City Council. Greg is married to Margo, is father to 9 children and two stepchildren, and is a grandfather of 11. He is a parishioner at San Marco Catholic Church.
